A rabbit is a long-term committment. With proper care, rabbits live on average for eight to 12 years. Will your child still be interested in caring and playing with the rabbit after the novelty wears off Or will bunny be abandoned in a backyard hutch come summer
Easter is coming and many people are tempted to buy one of those cute little bunnies that appear at pet stores. Unless a child is over 12 and very responsible, you would be better off getting a stuffed rabbit.

That problem is why the House Rabbit Society started their "Make Mine Chocolate. " campaign, says chapter manager Karalee Curry. The campaign encourages a better understanding of rabbits by distributing educational literature, and raises awareness of the Easter issue by selling rabbit pins that resemble chocolate bunnies.
People buy them thinking theyre great low-maintenance starter pets," says Mary Cotter, the vice president and education/outreach director of the House Rabbit Society. But thats a misconception, she says: "Theyre closer to dogs and cats than they are to the so-called pocket pets. "
The project would cater to small flock producers of chicken, turkey, ducks, geese, and possibly farmed game like pheasants or partridges as well as rabbits. Piltz said the unit would be capable of processing 5,000 to 6,000 birds a day and the more birds or rabbits processed the less it will cost the individual producer.
Legislation came into effect last September which drastically limited where livestock, birds and rabbits could be slaughtered and processed. The closest licensed poultry facility is in the Lower Mainland, a prohibitive distance for local producers.

Thankfully, that shoot them all attitude is gradually disappearing, so it was encouraging to get a phone call this week from a huntsman, Raymond Robinson from Drumduff, Florencecourt to say he had trapped a pine marten, and to be told when we got to his antiques/farmhouse home that he intended returning the little creature to the wild.
They feel safer down there than around the house, and I always use a trap thats bigger than what you need because it also makes them feel safer as opposed to a small trap. But, hes safe, not mink though. I kill them humanely after Ive trapped them.

2008-03-01 Woodston: Publics view was ignored-Peterborough Today
Planning officers have advised members of Peterborough City Councils planning and environmental protection committee to rubberstamp plans to demolish Guild House, in Oundle Road, Woodston, when they meet on Tuesday.
Residents also have Peterborough Civic Society fighting their corner after the group said the proposals would harm the existing character of the neighbourhood and result in the loss of green space.
Fears about the volume of traffic on Oundle Road have not been allayed and they seem to be under the illusion that there will only be one car for every household. "

Our pastor used to say back in the late 1970s and early 1980s that if you were over 35 today . You ought to be in Church every Sunday, thanking God . because God has spared you . for there was a time when your life was not worth that of a jack-rabbit. Was life hard for them Yes. Was life fair to them I think so. I believe life was fair because they made their choices based upon their own requirements; even though their choices were limited by the restraints that an unequal society imposed upon them. What makes them very important to me is that they knew that there was no room for failure . maybe re-evaluation . but no failure not in life. The goal was to live a life and connect their link in the
